HAIR REPORT: ALEXANDER WANG
THE LOOK:
Alexander Wang drew inspiration from his boyhood fashion icons he admired when growing up for his Spring Summer 2014 collection. Wang’s trademark monochromatic colour palette was brightened up with overt branding and a playful tone, featuring 90s style shift dresses and high waisted two pieces.
Redken Global Styling Director Guido fused glamour with grunge at the Alexander Wang show this season to create a nonchalant, yet sexy runway look. The key to this look was creating the right texture and fullness to allow Guido to create volume without teasing or overdoing the heat styling. “Overall it’s a very sexy look this season. I wanted the hair to reflect the cool, low-key Alexander Wang type girl. I suppose there are equal parts grunge and glamour, in that the hair is voluminous, yet natural.”

THE HOW-TO:
1. Starting with towel dried hair, create a messy centre part using fingers.
2. Apply Redken Rootful 06 root lifting spray from roots to ends, concentrating on the roots.
3. Using a diffuser, blow dry the hair softly to enhance natural waves.
4.Once hair is 75% dry, leave to dry naturally.
5.Next, spray Redken Powder Refresh 01 through mid-lengths
and ends to give added texture and grip.
6. Finish by spraying Redken Quick Tease 15 backcombing finishing spray to mid length and ends to hold in the texture.
